What is laser restoration?
Laser hair restoration is a treatment using a variety of different types of laser light. It doesn't involve chemicals and doesn't burn or cut through the skin. The lasers used are low power and produce a soft laser light. What does the treatment involve?
Treatment involves sitting under a hood containing the laser devices. there are enough to illuminate the whole of the scalp with the soft laser light. Treatments usually last about 30 minutes and are repeated two times a week for a 6 month period. After several weeks of treatment people tend to notice that hair loss has been reduced and some regrowth has occurred. Better results have been achieved when laser light restoration is used with other different hair treatments such as Propecia and Minoxidil.
Which patients respond best to treatment?
Some people respond better than others to laser hair restoration. The results have been seen to be better for those using laser therapy in combination with other treatments. It would seem that those with more hair at the start respond more to the treatment. For this reason it is best to start treatment at the beginning of hair loss.
